Blepharoplasty

Also known as Eyelid Surgery · Eye Bag Removal · Double Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects the appearance of the eyelids by removing or repositioning excess skin, fat, and muscle. It can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, depending on the patient’s concerns and goals — creating a cleaner, more rested, and more refreshed appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Blepharoplasty may be appropriate for those who:

What to Expect — The Procedure

Upper Eyelid IncisionPlaced within the natural eyelid crease — virtually invisible once healed
Lower Eyelid IncisionJust below the lash line, or inside the lower lid (transconjunctival approach)
Double Eyelid TechniqueIncision method or suture method — determined by anatomy and desired result

Incisions are carefully placed within natural skin folds to minimise visible scarring. The surgeon will remove or reposition excess skin and fat as needed, then close the incisions with fine sutures. Upper and lower blepharoplasty can be performed together in a single session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Incisions are placed within natural eyelid creases and lash lines, making them difficult to detect once healed. Most patients find that scars become virtually invisible within a few months.
Upper eyelid results typically last 5–10 years or longer. Lower eyelid results tend to be longer lasting, as the underlying fat is removed or repositioned rather than relying on skin elasticity.
Yes, combining upper and lower blepharoplasty in a single surgical session is common and eliminates the need for separate procedures and recovery periods.
